John James (J.J.) Hackett, drummer for Stars from 1978-1979 and then Mondo Rock from 1981-1990, has died at his home in Adelaide.

Mondo Rock lead singer alerted fans to JJ’s passing on his Twitter feed. Details of his passing have not yet been revealed.
JJ co-wrote the 1986 Mondo Rock hit ‘Primitive Love Rites’ with Eric McCusker.
JJ shared a songwriting credit with Ross Wilson and James Black on Pat Wilson’s ‘Killer Bees’. His co-writes include ‘A Woman Like You’ (as J. Hackett) by Mondo Rock, he played drums on ‘Maria’ from Men At Work’s final album ‘Two Hearts’, he was on Greg Champions’ 1990 self-titled album and The Doug Anthony Allstars – DAAS Icon album, also from 1990.
