Member for Goulburn Pru Goward has hit back at Shadow Minister for Police Nathan Rees, accusing labor of lying about cuts to the Police Academy.
Ms. Goward has launched a scathing attack on the state opposition describing their version of policing numbers in NSW as a shocking set of lies.
The member for Goulburn also says it's not the government's fault police are now choosing to stay in the force.
A statement from NSW Police claims due to increased retention rates fewer graduates are required for the second half of 2012.
The NSW Police Force goes onto say it'll meet its recruitment commitment of more than 16,600 officers by August 2015.
However Shadow Police Minister Nathan Rees was less optimistic saying the cancellation of September's intake will have a dramatic affect on the local economy.
