The Goulburn Chamber of Commerce say we need to be wary of putting all our ' eggs in one basket ' after September's intake at the Police Academy was cancelled.

The students at the academy spend an enormous amount of money at cafes and clubs right around Goulburn.

President Robert Walker says it's important there are alternate revenue streams when something like this happens.

Federal Member for Hume Alby Schultz is accusing the Prime Minister of using an expert panel to tell her what the opposition has been saying all along on boat people.

The panel headed by former Defence Chief Angus Houston recommends resuming offshore processing on Nauru and PNG’s Manus Island

Asylum seekers have continued to die at sea with Parliament unable to pass legislation  allowing offshore processing.

Mr. Schultz says Ms. Gillard has used the cover of a report to change her mind.

Police have been called in to investigate an attempt on the life of a Wingecarribee Council candidate , whose motor vehicle has been tampered with.

Sitting councillor and Labor candidate Graham MC Laughlin says he was driving out of work  on Thursday when he felt the rear end of his ute begin to shake.

He believes the nuts on the studs  were loosened and have progressively fallen off over the last few days after one of the rear wheels flew off..

Cr Mc Laughlin says it was a sad day for democracy.
