A major police operation at the Marulan Heavy Vehicle station has uncovered three guns, caught 10 unregistered vehicles and five unlicensed drivers.

Operation Herculean Five which was carried out on Saturday with the assistance of Goulburn Police and drug detection dogs saw more than 50 vehicles searched.

Sergeant Dave Rose from Police Headquarters says apart from more than 1700 breath tests being conducted a number of people were also caught with drugs.

Gai Waterhouse has recorded her first Goulburn Cup victory with Kinnersley ridden by Tommy Berry winning in a thrilling finish.

The horse made a break at the 100 metre mark to win confidently ahead of Scream Machine and Alma’s Fury.

Racing NSW's Marketing Executive Caitlin Churchill says the race was a perfect way to finish off Goulburn's Spring Racing Festival.

A proposed national Ovine Johne's Disease management plan is currently the subject of increasing debate amongst sheep producers.

The proposal will mean farmers in areas where the disease isn't common will need to show the bacteria doesn't exist.

In the meantime The Department of Industries has issued a statement saying there'll be no regulation involved with the new plan.

Yass farmer Ed Storey who's Chair of the NSW Wool Committee says most farmers on the Southern Tablelands have already been vaccinating against the disease.
