A $200,000 study into the potential extension of the Nowra to Nerriga Main Road 92 is expected to be completed by mid next year.

That includes southwest on the MR92 via Mongarlowe River Bridge to the Kings Highway at Braidwood, and west via Oallen Ford to Tarago, rejoining the Kings Highway.

This comes with the announcement last Thursday that the Oallen Bridge over the Shoalhaven River between Nowra and Goulburn will be replaced.

The study is being managed through the South East Area Transport Strategy lobby group, and is being managed by former RMS Regional Manager Steve Warrell.

The National Party's Central Executive will decide what action to take against Yass branch member James Harker Mortlock.

A statement issued by NSW headquarters says Mr. Harker Mortlock has refused to withdraw his candidacy despite being asked to do so by Chairman Nial Blair.

Earlier in the the week the Yass branch Member announced he'd be contesting the seat of Hume as an independent ignoring a coalition agreement.

He says there are certain elements of the Liberals and Nationals that have refused to communicate right from the start of the Hume campaign.

Mr. Harker Mortlock will seek a spot in the National Party room if elected despite the party not endorsing a candidate.

In the meantime he goes onto say both parties have lost touch with their memberships and says he's a believer in everyone having their say.
