Six Goulburn Corrective Services officers received special service medals at a  presentation held in Nowra on Wednesday.

Amongst those names included Senior Correctional Officers Amanda Buck and Lynette Williams for 15 years of service.

Carl Coleman, James Poulos and Anthony Wormsley also received 20 year medals.

In addition to this Regional Manager David White says Wayne King was also recognised with a 35 year National award.

A 16 year old teenager is dead after an early morning crash on the southern tablelands.

The accident happened on the Grabben Gullen Road west of Goulburn

The teen died at the scene after being thrown from the vehicle.

Police are un-sure what time the crash occurred.....it was reported about 4 this morning by a passing motorist.

Medical Undergraduates from the Southern Tablelands are being encouraged to apply for
the next round of rural medical student scholarships.

Successful applicants will receive $10,000 a year while completing a standard medical degree at their chosen university.

Executive Director of the National Rural Health Alliance Gordon Gregory says entries close on January 14.
