The Goulburn Community is deeply saddened today with the passing of Steve Swadling after a struggle for many months with health issues.
Steve had his his wife and family by his side when he sadly passed away at Goulburn Hospital on Saturday morning.
Managing Director of Capital Radio Network Kevin Blyton says Steve was a good man and certainly didn’t deserve to go so young and in the way he did.
Mr. Blyton says he'll be sorely missed.
Steve worked for the company for 23 years and was the longest serving employee of the Capital Radio Network.
He was the General Manager of Radio Operations in Goulburn, past Deputy Mayor of Goulburn and current President of the Goulburn Soldiers Club
He also won the Commercial Radio Australia award for Best Regional Station Manager in 2003.
Steve suffered a stroke back in July which eventually resulted in him being diagnosed with a brain tumour.
Mr. Blyton went on to say his family are naturally very distressed and our thoughts should be with them now.
