The Goulburn Knitters Guild will be unveiling a gigantic scarfe tomorrow that will be wrapped around the neck of Rambo at the Big Merino.

The idea started back in May last year when the group were approached to get involved in Goulburn's 150th birthday celebrations.

The scarfe is 30 metres long, one point five metres wide and has taken more than 2300 hours to make with the help of 12 people stitching all the pieces together.

Publicity Officer Susan McDonald says plenty of coverage is expected.

Goulburn's Warrigal Care will performing their hit tune ' a song for Goulburn ' at the Soldiers Club today from with a $2 entry at the door.

The single which won the 2GN song competition has been a smashing success

Irish Australian and Country band Mountain Dew will also be providing entertainment from midday through to three pm.

Singer and guitarist Tony Rodwell says everyone's welcome to pop past.

Organisers of this Thursday's Goulburn Day View Club say they still have a few seats available for their three course luncheon as part of Goulburn's 150th birthday.

It'll all be happening at the Southern Star Inn on Reynolds Street from 11am.

The lunch will also coincide with International Women's Day the following day and interested people can contact 2GN reception for details.

Leader of the Finance Group Joan Scott says they'll be having a number of guest speakers for the occasion.
