Goulburn Mulwaree Council have increased microphone sound levels in the Council chambers to make it easier for people to hear.

The difference of having two additional speakers put in the ceiling have made a huge difference despite only five members of the public attending Tuesday night's meeting.

Mayor Geoff Kettle insists he's already received some positive feedback about the change.

A 24 year old man has been stabbed at Goulburn Jail on Tuesday morning.

The inmate who's name has not been released was rushed to Goulburn Base Hospital for X-rays and released a short time later.

It's believed the incident took place in the jail's minimum security section with the 24 year old being stabbed a number of times.

Inspector Gary Worboys says they're still investigating the matter.

Goulburn Mulwaree Council will write to the State Government to see if there are any plans for upgrading the safety of the the Tarago Rail Crossing.

The crossing was listed in the 10 worst in NSW by Rail safety organisation Track SAFE,  from the perspective of train drivers.

Thirty five people die every year from level crossing and trespass incidents.

Councillor Robin Saville says he and Councillor O'Neill have seen first hand the danger posed.
