Regional Planning approval for Aquatic centre upgrade

The long awaited Joint Regional Planning Panel approval for the multi million dollar redevelopment of the Goulburn Aquatic Centre has been given.

 

Goulburn Mulwaree mayor, Bob Kirk has welcomed the decision for what will be an important project for the city and wider area.

 

Council has allocated $29 million for stage one of re-development.

 

This includes refurbishment of the present 25 metre pool, an additional 10 lane indoor pool, hydro-therapy water area and an outdoor water play area.

 

There will also be a cafe, new change rooms and amenities along with car parking and landscaping upgrades.

 

Mayor Kirk says it is hoped to award the tender for construction by the end of the year.
