Wind farm opponents say a recent land mark ruling in a Federal Court should come as a strong warning for Upper Lachlan and Goulburn Mulwaree Councils.

In a family law case in Victoria, a Magistrate ruled a property would be worth 17% less, if 14 wind towers were built next door.

South Gippsland Council has also cut the rates for one property owner in its area because it feels the value of the land has fallen.

President of the NSW Landscape Guardians Humphrey Price Jones believes the relevant authorities should take note.
